Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring eggs and incubation conditions(temperature, humidity, water quality)
- Feeding and caring for newly hatched animals
- Cleaning and maintaining tanks and equipment
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (some roles prefer coursework in biology, agriculture, or aquaculture)
- Experience: Entry-level positions may require little to no experience; familiarity with farming, fishery, or animal care is a plus
- Physical ability: Able to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work in wet, humid, or outdoor environments
- Attention to detail: Important for monitoring conditions (temperature, water quality, feeding schedules) and spotting health issues
- Basic technical skills: Ability to operate and maintain hatchery equipment and follow safety procedures
- Record-keeping: Basic math and documentation skills for tracking stock, feeding, and growth
- Teamwork & communication: Ability to follow instructions and report issues clearly
- Flexibility: Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, or shifts, depending on hatchery needs
