Job summary
Responsible for all aspects of operations at the farm, to day-to-day staff management and production. He / She should be an ambassador for the brand and your hotel. Provide leadership and strategic planning to all farms in support of our products, culture, maximized operations efficiency and client’s satisfaction. Work Very closely with the owners
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing existing operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial documents and recommending improvements.
- Preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff understand expectations.
- Visiting the different divisions to inspect crops, livestock, and also perform tests on soil and water.
- Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
- Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery.
- Handling the marketing and sale of products produced on the farm like fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, and grain.
- Ensuring all staff adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Assisting with the recruitment and training of new staff members.
- Collaborating with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports.
- Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science.
- Undertake practical activities, such as driving tractors, operating machinery, feeding livestock or spraying fields
- Plan activities for trainee staff, mentoring and monitoring them
- Maintain and monitor the quality of yield, whether livestock or crops
- Understand the implications of the weather and make contingency plans
- Make sure products are ready for deadlines, such as auctions and markets
- Ensure that farm activities comply with government regulations
- Develop and ensuring adherence to standard operative procedures,
- Monitor animal health and welfare, including liaising with vets
- Maintain knowledge of pests and diseases and an understanding of how they spread and how to treat them
- Keep financial records up to date
Requirements:
- A minimum of a BSc in Animal Nutrition
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in fish feed production
Expectation:
- Feed conversion ratio FCR 1.2 :1
- Line utilization of 95%
- Wastage 0.0001%
- Idle time 5%
- Gross Operating Profit Per kg - 40% of selling price
- Total Operating cost per kg – 70% of selling price
- Market Penetration Index (MPI)
- Customer Satisfaction
Remuneration: NGN 250,000 monthly
