Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
Grant & Fund Management:
- Track, monitor, and report on restricted funds and grants
- Ensure all expenditures align with donor regulations and approved budgets
- Monitor grant milestones and reporting timelines
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop annual organizational and project-specific budgets
- Prepare periodic cash flow forecasts
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Present financial reports to management and Board of Directors
- Simplify financial data for non-financial stakeholders
Compliance & Audit Preparation:
- Coordinate annual external audits and tax filings
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and local regulatory requirements
- Maintain adherence to donor and tax-exempt guidelines
Day-to-Day Accounting Operations:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
- Manage payroll and financial controls
- Maintain and optimize accounting systems and chart of accounts
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit finance, accounting, or grants management
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration
- ACA certification is required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounting or fund-accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Strong understanding of donor regulations (e.g., UN, USAID, EU, or similar institutions)
