The finance & grants manager will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, managing donor funds, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support organizational growth and sustainability.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:
Grant & Fund Management:
  • Track, monitor, and report on restricted funds and grants
  • Ensure all expenditures align with donor regulations and approved budgets
  • Monitor grant milestones and reporting timelines

Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Develop annual organizational and project-specific budgets
  • Prepare periodic cash flow forecasts
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights

Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Present financial reports to management and Board of Directors
  • Simplify financial data for non-financial stakeholders

Compliance & Audit Preparation:
  • Coordinate annual external audits and tax filings
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and local regulatory requirements
  • Maintain adherence to donor and tax-exempt guidelines

Day-to-Day Accounting Operations:
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Manage payroll and financial controls
  • Maintain and optimize accounting systems and chart of accounts

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit finance, accounting, or grants management
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration
  • ACA certification is required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting or fund-accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Strong understanding of donor regulations (e.g., UN, USAID, EU, or similar institutions)

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities

Remuneration: NGN 400,000 – 600,000 Monthly Net
