Electrical Technician

Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repairs:

• Conduct routine preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in motors, lighting systems, power distribution boards, and control systems.
• Replace faulty components and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere strictly to electrical safety rules, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and company safety policies.
• Ensure electrical work complies with local electrical codes and standards.
• Participate in safety inspections and toolbox meetings.

Support to Engineers and Operations:

• Assist Electrical Engineers in projects, installations, and system upgrades.
• Provide technical support during production or facility operations.
• Report abnormalities and recommend corrective actions.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain maintenance logs, job cards, and inspection records.
• Report completed tasks, faults, and spare parts usage to supervisors.

Requirements:

• Technical diploma, trade test certificate, or OND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Trade certification (NABTEB, City & Guilds, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• 1–4 years of experience in electrical installation or maintenance (industrial or commercial environment preferred).
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Knowledge of electrical tools, testing instruments, and safety equipment.
• Basic understanding of motors, control panels, and power distribution systems.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and safety consciousness.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
