Trade Operations Officer
Job summary
This is essentially a Trade Operations Officer role focused on managing the operational and financial aspects of product trades from contracting through delivery and final reconciliation. The role acts as a link between Trading, Suppliers, Logistics, Finance, and other operational teams, ensuring that trades are executed correctly and understood
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Supporting trade execution.
- Preparing/processing product triggers based on approved instructions.
- Tracking quantities contracted, triggered, loaded, delivered and outstanding.
- Tracking outstanding supplier quantities, balances and obligations.
- Reconciling supplier invoices and transaction records.
- Preparing pre- and post-trade cargo economics.
- Calculating/compiling product landed costs.
- Capturing freight, premiums, agency, inspection, demurrage and other applicable transaction costs.
- Supporting transaction-level P&L and margin analysis.
- Comparing estimated vs. actual transaction economics and identifying variances.
- Supporting market and product pricing analysis as required.
- Preparing Excel-based reports, models and trackers.
- Maintaining open-trade and completed-trade schedules/registers.
- Following up with relevant teams for information required to complete transactions.
- Flagging trade-execution discrepancies, exceptions and material cost/margin variances.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience
- A minimum of a degree in a related field
