Client Overview:

Our client is an integrated energy company with operations across the upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas value chain. Their expertise covers exploration, production, storage, refining, and distribution of energy products. Our client is aligned with global energy transition goals therefore they are expanding into power and renewable energy, including solar and clean technologies.

Position Overview

The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) will provide strategic leadership across oil & gas and renewable energy operations, driving infrastructure development, operational excellence, and energy transition initiatives. This role requires a visionary leader with deep technical expertise, proven multinational project experience, and strong regulatory relationships to position the company as a market leader in integrated energy solutions.


Profile Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, or Process Engineering; MSc/MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive technical leadership in oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale petroleum terminals, refineries, offshore logistics, or renewable energy projects.
  • Professional certifications (COREN/NSE, PMP/PRINCE2) is required.
  • Strong regulatory knowledge and established industry relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts, close deals, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Visionary leader with global exposure and a passion for energy transition.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the company’s technical vision and roadmap across fossil fuels and renewables.
  • Lead construction and operations of aviation fuel terminals, petroleum storage facilities, offshore logistics bases, and refining assets.
  • Drive expansion of power generation and integration of solar/clean energy technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with international and local standards (IATA, ICAO, HSE, maritime, and energy regulators).
  • Champion operational excellence through digital transformation, process optimization, and predictive maintenance.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing technical team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and innovation.
  • Engage regulators, government agencies, and industry stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and secure market opportunities.
  • Report to the Board on performance, risks, and strategic opportunities, including M&A and joint ventures.


Compensation: NGN2. 5million - 3 million monthly (with benefits)
