Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Tax Compliance:
- Ensure timely filing of tax returns (VAT, WHT, CIT, etc.) and compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
- Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors during tax audits.
Accounts Management:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and payment.
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate ledgers.
Cost Control and Analysis:
- Monitor and analyze operational costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making.
Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Payroll Management:
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws.
Ad-hoc Duties:
- Support management with financial analysis and special projects as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CPA is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the oil and gas or servicing industry.
- Proven experience with financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is an added advantage.
