Job summary

A Cashier is responsible for handling customer payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate records of transactions. They ensure smooth and efficient checkout operations while providing excellent customer service.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process payments (cash, POS, transfer, or other methods)
  • Issue receipts and maintain accurate transaction records
  • Count money in the cash register at the beginning and end of shifts
  • Resolve customer payment inquiries or issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
  • Balance cash drawers and report discrepancies
  • Assist customers with basic product or service information
  • Work with the sales team to ensure smooth customer service


Requirements:

  • Minimum of OND, or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role (preferred)
  • Basic mathematics and numerical skills
  • Honesty, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use POS systems and basic computer applications
