About the Role
Africa International Housing Show (AIHS) and Housing TV Africa are seeking a serious-minded, business-oriented, highly motivated and creative Business Development Manager to drive business growth, strategic partnerships, sponsorships, sales, and new opportunities across our housing exhibition, media, events, and related business platforms.
The ideal candidate must be commercially minded, proactive, confident, creative, and an excellent communicator, with the ability to identify opportunities, build strong relationships, convert prospects into business, and contribute innovative ideas that strengthen the organisations' revenue and market position.
This is a results-driven role for someone who understands that communication, relationship building, sales, follow-up, creativity, and execution are essential to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development strategies to increase revenue, partnerships, sponsorships, and client acquisition.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the real estate, housing, construction, finance, government, technology, media, property development, and related sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate organisations, developers, investors, government agencies, professional bodies, media organisations, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop sponsorship and partnership opportunities for the Africa International Housing Show and other company initiatives.
- Generate leads, make presentations, negotiate proposals, close deals, and maintain consistent follow-up with prospective clients.
- Develop creative commercial ideas, campaigns, packages, and initiatives that can generate new revenue streams.
- Identify opportunities for Housing TV Africa to grow its advertising, content, media partnerships, sponsorship, and commercial offerings.
- Research market trends, competitors, customer needs, and emerging opportunities within the housing and real estate ecosystem.
- Prepare business proposals, pitch decks, presentations, quotations, and partnership documents.
- Work closely with the management, marketing, media, events, and creative teams to execute business initiatives.
- Represent AIHS and Housing TV Africa professionally at meetings, conferences, exhibitions, networking events, and industry engagements.
- Maintain an organised pipeline of prospects and provide regular reports on leads, engagements, conversions, revenue, and business development activities.
- Develop and maintain a strong database of clients, partners, sponsors, exhibitors, advertisers, and industry contacts.
- Monitor client relationships and ensure excellent customer experience before, during, and after engagements.
- Consistently follow up on leads and opportunities until they are converted or formally closed.
- Contribute ideas that improve the visibility, profitability, influence, and long-term growth of both brands.

- Digitally savvy, with a good understanding of social media, digital marketing, content, and online business development.
- Able to turn ideas into practical, measurable business outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Management, Real Estate, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, marketing, partnerships, media, events, real estate, or a related commercial role.
- Demonstrable experience in generating leads, developing partnerships, negotiating, and closing business.
- Experience in the real estate, construction, housing, media, events, or related sectors will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and familiarity with CRM or sales-management tools.
- Excellent presentation, proposal writing, negotiation, and reporting skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will be measured based on:
- New business generated.
- Revenue and sales targets achieved.
- Sponsorships and partnerships secured.
- New clients, exhibitors, advertisers, and corporate accounts acquired.
- Lead generation and conversion rates.
- Quality and value of strategic partnerships developed.
- Growth of Housing TV Africa's commercial opportunities.

- Execution of innovative business development initiatives.
