Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations (bank, merchant, settlement)
- Monitor transaction flows and ensure proper documentation
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements
- Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies when required
- Monitor internal controls to prevent fraud and financial discrepancies
- Assist in payroll processing and other finance-related tasks
Requirements:
- HND/BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in accounting or finance (fintech, banking, or financial services preferred)
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or in view) is an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and reconciliation processes
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of payment systems, settlement, and reconciliation processes is an advantage
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in a payment gateway or fintech company
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in Nigeria
- Familiarity with PCI-DSS and financial control frameworks
