Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Maintain the general ledger and manage accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Develop and manage job costing and project accounting.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting on all projects.
• Support budgeting processes and assist in forecasting revenue and expenses.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Ensure prompt processing and payment of invoices while managing project billing and client invoicing.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring that all financial records are compliant.
• Provide financial analysis and reports to support decision-making.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities and present related recommendations to management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of second-class upper division.
• Chartered accountant or relevant certification preferred.
• Proven experience as an accountant, with a minimum of 2 years in the construction or related industries.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong understanding of project costing and financial management specific to the construction and design industries.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and align with the company's goals and objectives.

Remuneration: NGN 250,000 - 280,000
