About the role

The Vice President Technology, you will provide effective leadership direction and professional expertise in all areas of technology and engineering in the achievement of revenue and profit goals. You will be a strategic business partner to the CTO and an integral member of the leadership team that establishes the strategic goals and objectives on behalf of our client.

What do you need to be successful?

• Takes responsibility for the entire automotive product development cycle from the early conceptual phase, through research and development, advanced engineering, product development, application engineering and validation, product launch and post-SOP support
• Provide leadership to a global distributed team of professionals through an organization that is both solid-line and matrix 
• Possess ‘cradle to grave’ responsibility for all the six automotive product families 
• Responsible for establishing both the long term-strategy and technology roadmap, as well as the short-term, tactical goals and objectives to ensure annual commitments are delivered 
• Work with peers, BU Heads and staff as the technical visionary to provide a strategy and process to deliver innovative products to the market at the right time 
• Build strong executive presence, trusting and mutually beneficial relationships with customers, suppliers and third party technology development partners, and act as the face of the company at relevant industry and trade events 
• Passionately drive continuous improvement initiatives across all facets of the engineering function. Benchmark internally and externally while driving the engineering and amp; technology organization towards best-in-class performance 
• Maintain, manage, and establish as necessary key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement 
• Provide professional leadership along with staff development and mentoring 
• Manage the technology/engineering annual budget to ensure objectives are met within financial and resource constraints

What should you have done in your career?

• BSc or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related 
• MBA or extensive training in cybersecurity, software development, team building, leadership, management and other business areas
• Minimum of 15years of broad-based technology and engineering experience with increasing levels of responsibility 
• Extensive experience in managing complex projects 
• Experience working in a matrix, extremely dynamic, fast-paced, results-oriented multi-country environment; prioritization, and ability to complete multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent data analytics skills, Tableau, Power BI and MS Office Suite 
• Ability to apply an analytical, process-driven approach to include appropriate KPIs, in order to be proactive in all technical matters globally 
• Hands-on experience with typical automotive technology and process development processes such as FMEA’s, PPAP, DVP and amp;Rs, etc. 
• Familiarity with marketing platforms, programs and policies 
• Capability to oversee multiple projects across geographies 
• Ability to travel regionally and globally up to 30 – 40% 
• Successful track record across the gamut of the technology life cycle from early concept phase through launch and serial production
• Ability to define the long term technology strategy while also addressing the hands-on tactical needs of the business at all levels 
• Proactive, ethical, high energy, hands-on manager with great interpersonal skills to function across all levels of the organization as well as with external entities 
• Thoughtful and demonstrates good judgment and strong decision-making skills 
• Strong organizational and project management skills; attention to detail 
• Proven leadership ability with track record of building highly functioning technical teams 
• Proven experience building strong business partnerships and executive presence; able to establish credibility and support with other stakeholders 
• Outstanding time management skills 
• Results-oriented approach to work; willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team 
• Ability to identify and implement efficiencies and process improvements 
• Great curiosity and creative ability to interface with all parts of the company in order to identify opportunities for improvement and growth
