Senior Backend Engineer

Requirements:

• Experience: 8+ years in software development, specializing in a variety of web and mobile stacks as a Senior Backend Engineer or Full-Stack Engineer.
• Environment: Exposure to fast-paced startup or tech-driven companies, particularly in fintech, banking, or B2B SaaS.
• Python Proficiency: 5+ years of extensive work with Python, including strong typing, packaging, and proficiency with data science toolkits (Pandas, XGBoost, Matplotlib).
• Data Management: Hands-on experience working with both structured and unstructured data, utilizing SQL scripts, ETL tools, and designing data pipelines.
• Project Management: Proven track record of leading end-to-end product initiatives, breaking them into phases, and guiding a team of junior software engineers.
• African Market Experience: Previous involvement in deploying software products at scale in the African market.
• Location: Candidates based in a time zone overlapping at least 5 working hours with West Africa Time (WAT) and East Africa Time (EAT) are preferred. Individuals from Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and Uganda are highly encouraged to apply.
