Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities;

  • I expect you to be a representative of me in the restaurant 
  • You are to ensure that the restaurant is neat and tidy at all times
  • You are to ensure that the staff are compliant with the dress code and also personal hygiene
  • You are to ensure that there is no yelling or arguing on the restaurant floor
  • You are to ensure that the bathrooms are clean
  • You are to make sure that all items needed to run a smooth operation through the day are available (napkins, salt, pepper, eat)
  • You are to make sure that any problems that occur in the restaurant are brought to your attention and noted down
  • All voids/lateness's and absences must be noted down 
  • I will be expecting a weekly report of any and all incidents that occur in the restaurant and possible ways for these things to be fixed
  • You are expected to be timely and be a man/woman of your word as the best way to lead is to lead by example
  • You are expected to take disciplinary action when deemed necessary
  • You are expected to make sure that service is exceptional for all customers that walk through the door
  • You are expected to be a problem solver, when presenting issues have recommendations as to how the problems can be solved
  • You are expected to close the till 
  • You should resume early afternoon and have a supervisor work the morning shift
  • You are expected to have your eyes on all areas to make sure that they are adequately manned and staffed
  • You are expected to create a roster and enforce it - ROTATIONS everyone must work everywhere but during peak periods the strongest should be put where they will be of most help
  • You are expected to ensure that all staff follow rules and that no one shows preferential treatment 
  • You cannot be at all places at once but you are to delegate who can best play what roles when you cannot be present in some areas
  • You are to provide excellent customer service to guests and excellent leadership to employees
  • You should monitor the team's performance promoting achievements and identifying weaker areas for improvement 
  • You are to Hold daily lineups to update staff on any events or issues 
  • Manage bookings and reservations alongside supervisors
  • Bring innovative ideas when it comes to marketing for the establishment 
  • Help bring more structure to the company as it is new in terms of policies (building company policies)
