Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain LAN, WAN, and cloud networks, ensuring their availability and performance.
- Provide support for servers, storage systems, and other IT infrastructure components, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Monitor network and system performance, identifying and addressing issues proactively to minimize downtime.
- Oversee data backup processes and ensure the organization’s disaster recovery plans are up-to-date and effective.
- Provide technical support to users, addressing networking and infrastructure-related issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of the IT infrastructure, including network diagrams, system configurations, and incident logs.
- Work with external vendors and service providers to resolve issues and implement new solutions.
- Ensure all systems comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in networking and IT infrastructure management (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)) are required.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network administration, IT infrastructure management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
- Experience with managing and configuring network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Experience with server administration, including Windows Server, Linux, and Active Directory.
- Expertise in implementing and managing network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Knowledge of data backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity strategies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users and interact with external vendors or service providers.
- Experience in managing IT projects, including upgrades, system migrations, and infrastructure enhancements.
- Ability to maintain detailed records, including network diagrams, system configurations, and incident logs, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the IT environment.
- In-depth understanding of cybersecurity threats, trends, and best practices, ensuring the organization's infrastructure remains secure and up-to-date.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and provide leadership in network and infrastructure projects.
- Ability to work outside regular business hours, when necessary, to manage system upgrades or resolve critical issues.
