Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the solar-powered electric vehicle prototype's goals, requirements, and specifications.
• Lead the mechanical design and engineering efforts specifically focusing on the frame and EV platform, to ensure the prototype's structural integrity, performance, and safety.
• Utilize advanced design software tools, including Solid Works, CATIA, ANSYS, or similar to create detailed 3D models, simulations, and engineering drawings.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential design challenges and propose innovative solutions.
• Prototype and test mechanical components and systems, iterating designs as necessary to achieve optimal performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with electrical engineers and renewable energy experts to seamlessly integrate solar power systems into the vehicle's design. 
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in electric vehicle technology, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Contribute to the documentation of design specification test results and project progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and sustainability goals throughout the design and development.

Requirements:

• BSc in Mechanical engineering
• Minimum of 4 years experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
  
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in the mechanical design of generator enclosures, and panels. battery cabinets etc using Solid Works or Solid Edge
• Strong Problem solving and detail-oriented skills
