Job Summary

Our client, is growing rapidly and looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of an ICT engineer. The ideal candidate will develop and direct Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategy within the organization and make decisions about the IT systems. The ICT Manager will lead teams of IT specialists to implement their strategies, purchase installations and integration of ICT hardware and software with existing systems and maintenance of all ICT equipment.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze information and computing needs within the organization.
  • Initiate, design, develop, coordinate and implement IT strategy, operational plans, systems, tools, policies and procedures across all levels of the organization.
  • Oversee the procurement of IT systems.
  • Oversee the installation and integration of IT resources.
  • Oversee the rollout of user training.
  • Set priorities across system development, maintenance and operations.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems and equipment.
  • Oversee the security of IT systems by running regular checks on network and data security.
  • Preserve assets, data, control structures and conduct regular system, network and data audits.
  • Ensure that all systems are operational and meet the needs of the business.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all telecommunications matters.
  • Manage the implementation of new technologies across the organization, including evaluating new hardware and software products and determining how they can improve productivity
  • Manage and report on allocation of IT budget, forecast financial requirements, prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances and initiate corrective action.
  • Contribute towards the timely preparation and implementation of strategic, operational and budget plans.
  • Create, review and approve budgets for capital expenditures such as new equipment purchases or facility improvements.
  • Assist in the development of the annual budget.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve and update software and systems.
  • Develop and implement IT policy and best practice guides for the organization.
  • Run and share regular operation system reports with senior staff.
  • Oversee and determine timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages.
  • Manage and report on the allocation of IT budget.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments and monitor usage and trends to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in strategic planning activities with other managers in the company to ensure that all departments are working towards common goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitors’ offerings to identify opportunities for new products or services that could be profitable for the company.
  • Ensure that an adequate plan for maintenance, disaster recovery and business continuity is maintained and effectively implemented.
  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained and updated.
  • Handle any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the management from time to time.


Management of the overall units:

  • Manage IT staff by providing leadership and guidance.
  • Participate in recruiting, training and coaching employees.
  • Communicate job expectations, and monitor and appraise performance within the department.
  • Manage a team of technicians who provide technical support for IT problems.
  • Provide technical leadership, foresight and senior level IT advice and information to meet needs and guide strategic and operational decision-making of Senior Management.
  • Forming strategic alliances with other companies to optimize productivity.
  • To carry out a competitor survey, market, micro and macro-environmental analysis so as to benchmark the performance of the company with its industry competitors.
  • Manage all development process and ensure compliance to government policies and regulations.



People management:

  • Direct and manage general IT operations.
  • Overseeing the daily management of the IT department.
  • Manage the performance of all staff in the department through the formal performance management system.
  • Identify opportunities for team training and skills advancement.
  • Identify opportunities for self-development and continuing personal development
  • Maintain and sustain the team’s motivation.
  • Must be Willing and ready to travel at a single notice to all part of the county
  • Any other duties assigned by the Management.


Requirements:

  • Minimum academic qualification of a B.Sc./HND degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Advanced Certification or Master’s in IT Related courses
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in same capacity within the industry.
  • Project Management certification of training 
  • Proven Technical skill technical IT skills in installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting equipment
  • Good understanding of budgets and budget preparation
  • Must possess knowledge and experience of operational systems and associated with private and public telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optics and power line carrier.
  • Must possess the ability to lead and motivate.
  • Must have the skills to develop the IT team’s technical capacity, professionalism, and commitment.
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Experienced in developing IT system and maintenance policies.
  • Possess good reporting skills.
  • Adept at developing and maintaining budget.
  • Able to self-motivate and motivate a team.


Location: Lagos State


Remuneration: NGN 150,000
