Heavy Duty Mechanic

Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and other components
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed
• Use diagnostic tools, software, and equipment to identify and resolve issues
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts, and perform preventive maintenance to prevent future breakdowns
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date service records
• Work collaboratively with other mechanics, technicians, and supervisors to complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and equipment
• Train and mentor junior mechanics as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent, technical certification or diploma in heavy equipment or automotive repair is preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, software, and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
