Head of school

Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership:

• Set and implement the school’s academic vision, curriculum standards, and assessment policies
• Ensure compliance with Lagos State Ministry of Education + WAEC/NECO/IGCSE requirements
• Monitor teaching quality through class observations and teacher evaluations
• Drive student performance and exam results

Staff Management:

• Recruit, train, and appraise teachers and non-teaching staff
• Lead staff meetings, professional development, and performance reviews
• Foster a positive school culture and handle disciplinary matters

Operations & Administration:

• Oversee daily operations: timetable, admissions, safety, facilities, transport
• Manage school budget, fees collection, payroll, and procurement
• Ensure compliance with government regulations, health & safety, and accreditation standards

Students & Parents:

• Uphold student discipline, welfare, and safeguarding policies
• Build strong relationships with parents through meetings, newsletters, and events
• Handle complaints and ensure high parent satisfaction/retention

Growth & Strategy:

• Develop marketing and admissions strategy to grow enrollment
• Represent the school to government bodies, partners, and the community
• Lead fundraising, partnerships, and school development projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, or related field. Master’s degree + PGDE is an advantage
• 3+ years in school leadership. Must have served as Vice Principal, Academic Coordinator, or Principal
• TRCN certification required
• Team management and decision-making

• Budgeting, policy development, Excel/Google Workspace
• Excellent communication with parents, staff, and regulators
• Nigerian curriculum, child safeguarding, school operations
