Head of IT

Responsibilities:

• The role of an IT Head is crucial for ensuring the efficient and secure operation of information technology systems. Here are some key functions and responsibilities typically associated with the position:
• Technology Strategy: The IT Head is responsible for developing and implementing the overall technology strategy aligned with the business objectives of the organization. This involves identifying technology trends, evaluating the current technology infrastructure, and proposing strategies to leverage technology for operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
  
• System Management: The IT Head oversees the management and maintenance of all IT systems. This includes Core Banking Application (BankOne), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, Digital Channels, Network Infrastructure, and other technology platforms. They ensure that systems are properly configured, updated, and optimized for performance and security.
  
• IT Governance and Compliance: The IT Head ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in IT governance and security. They establish and enforce IT policies and procedures, conduct risk assessments, and implement controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. They may also oversee the management of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  
• Vendor Management: The IT Head manages relationships with technology vendors and service providers. They evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and oversee vendor performance to ensure service level agreements are met. They also stay updated on emerging technologies and assess their suitability the organizations needs.
  
• IT Budgeting and Resourcing Allocation: The IT Head is responsible for developing and managing the IT budget, ensuring optimal utilization of resources while aligning with the bank's financial goals. They assess the need for IT infrastructure upgrades, software licenses, hardware, and staffing requirements, and allocate resources accordingly.
  
• Technology Projects and Initiatives: The IT Head leads and manages technology-related projects and initiatives within the bank. This includes system implementations, upgrades, and integrations. The IT Head works closely with stakeholders from different departments to understand their requirements, develop project plans, and ensure successful project delivery.
  
• Team Leadership and Development: The IT Head builds and leads a high-performing IT team. Also, provides guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members, fosters a collaborative work environment, and ensures the team's skills and knowledge are up to date. Can also get involved in recruitment and performance evaluations.
  
• Innovation and Digital Transformation: The IT Head plays a key role in driving innovation and digital transformation initiatives within the organization. They identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, such as Mobile Banking, Agency Banking, Merchant POS, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or Blockchain, to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and product/service offerings.

Requirements:

• Minimum academic qualification of a BSc degree computer science or a related field
• 5 years of working experience
• Good Technical knowledge
