Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Install generators, transfer switches, and electrical connections
- Ensure proper sizing, configuration, and commissioning of generators
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and battery maintenance
- Inspect and test generators, transfer switches, and electrical connections
- Troubleshoot and repair generator faults, including electrical, mechanical, and fuel system issues
- Replace worn or damaged parts, such as bearings, seals, and electrical components
- Understand and work with electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, and control panels
- Work with mechanical components, including engines, fuel systems, and cooling systems
- Test generators and electrical systems to ensure proper function and safety
- Perform quality control checks to ensure work meets standards
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and installations
Requirements:
- Minimum of SSCE
- Relevant certifications in generator installation, maintenance, or electrical systems are a plus.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing generators, transfer switches, and electrical connections.
- Experience working with both electrical and mechanical components of generators is essential.
- Proficiency in installing generators, ensuring correct sizing, configuration, and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, and control panels.
- Familiarity with mechanical components, including engines, fuel systems, and cooling systems.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and battery maintenance.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing generator faults, including electrical, mechanical, and fuel system issues.
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose and repair faults in generators and associated electrical systems.
- Ability to quickly identify and replace worn or damaged parts, such as bearings, seals, and electrical components.
- High level of accuracy in testing and commissioning generators and electrical systems to ensure proper function and safety.
- Commitment to performing quality control checks to ensure that all work meets industry standards and specifications.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and installations.
- Proficient in documenting procedures, inspection results, and any corrective actions taken.
- Must be physically fit to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and performing manual labor.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including outdoor and industrial settings.
- Strong verbal communication skills to explain technical issues and procedures to clients and team members.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to generator installation, maintenance, and electrical work.
- Commitment to adhering to safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of oneself and others on the job site.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
- Ability to travel to different locations for on-site installations, maintenance, and repair tasks.
