General Ledger Accountant

General Ledger Accountant- Lagos.

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Job Summary

This position is a service providing accounting support across business entities in Nigeria and interacting with

Accounting Manager. Provide technical and administrative support for general accounting and system. Prepares

required financial reports; maintain integrity of financial reporting system and provide analytical support regarding

financial statements and general ledger.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepares quarterly financial reports for DEME entities in Nigeria.

* Manages daily accounting activities to maintain the organization’s general ledger.

* Coordinates and ensures timely monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.

* Prepares annual financial statements.

* Prepares and/or reviews month-end journal entries.

* Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes.

* Works with the Accounting manager to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.

* Is the first point of contact for the statutory financial audit of all DEME entities.

Requirements:

* 5 years of progressive responsibility in accounting related functions.

* Bachelor’s degree with Accounting major or related field.

* Proven knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

* Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills

* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

* ANAN of ICAN required.

* Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus

* Experience working with an international company is a plus.
