Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing electrical systems in construction projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency across all phases of design, installation, and maintenance. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver electrical infrastructure solutions for both residential and commercial developments.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Design & Planning:
- Develop electrical system designs and plans for construction projects, ensuring they meet local building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Perform load calculations and voltage drop calculations to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Prepare electrical system schematics, layouts, and installation documentation.
Project Supervision & Coordination:
- Supervise electrical installations, ensuring that electrical work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Coordinate with other engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure smooth integration of electrical systems with other building components.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
Quality Control & Testing:
- Oversee testing of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring all systems operate effectively and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues during the construction phase and during the post-installation phase.
- Ensure all electrical work meets both international standards and Nigerian local standards (e.g., Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission guidelines).
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of designs, installations, and inspections.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Ensure proper documentation of materials used and that all electrical installations are signed off before project handover.
Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to safety guidelines, ensuring that all electrical work complies with OSHA standards and Nigerian safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure that proper safety measures are in place to protect workers and site visitors.
- Stay up to date with industry standards, codes, and innovations in electrical engineering.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Professional certification, such as COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) is highly desirable.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on construction projects.
- Experience with building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, wiring, and renewable energy systems (e.g., solar energy) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is preferred.
- Must be willing to travel to different construction sites in Lagos and surrounding areas.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of local electrical codes and regulations in Nigeria.
Remuneration: NGN 200,000 - 350,000
