EH003 - Governor/Governess - Lagos, Nigeria

Overview

A reputable and influential family in Lagos, Nigeria is seeking a full-time, live-in career governess for their sons aged 3 years and 8 years to start ASAP. The schedule would be Monday through Friday, 5.30am-9pm, with lots of free time during the day when the children are at school. The average school day would start at 5.30am, ensuring the children ate breakfast and were prepared for the day. Once they are dropped off at school, the governess would have time for any admin and then manage her own time until the children are collected from school at 2.30pm and their day would finish at approximately 9pm once the children are in bed. The governess would be required to be on duty Saturdays, 10am-3pm, with a possibility to finish at noon.

The children follow the American curriculum, so knowledge in this area would be a plus, but not essential. A bilingual candidate is an added advantage, but again not essential, as the parents are keen for the children to learn an extra language. 

A major requirement of the role is to be a positive influence on the children; therefore, the candidate must possess the requisite know-how such as finesse in management and child care, motivation, inspiration and must be a good team player. The candidate should also be of good character to impact proper virtues and etiquette on the children, serve as a tutor in aiding with math and English schoolwork, exam preparations and promote cognitive development in the children as well as other skills and talents, and aid in preparing the child for advance placements in the best schools. They will be expected to organise activities and ECA's, such as, chess, horse riding and piano.

The family travels frequently throughout the year and the candidate would sometimes be required to travel with them.

A 2-3 bedroom apartment within the grounds of the estate will be provided as well as a driver. A competitive annual salary will be provided for the hired candidate, as well as medical insurance and visa, 30 days annual leave with flexible dates, and 2 return flights home each year.
