Builder

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate building construction activities from foundation to project completion.
• Ensure all construction work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with quality standards and building codes.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve construction issues.
• Coordinate daily activities of artisans, subcontractors, and site personnel.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and other consultants.
• Ensure materials, equipment, and manpower are available when required.
• Support the timely completion of projects within approved budgets.
• Inspect construction materials and completed work to ensure quality and compliance.
• Implement quality assurance procedures throughout the construction process.
• Identify defects and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
• Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on construction sites.
• Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all site personnel.
• Identify potential site hazards and implement preventive measures.
• Ensure construction activities comply with local building regulations and company policies.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
• Maintain records of labour, materials, equipment, and site activities.
• Monitor project costs and assist with material usage control.
• Report project challenges and recommend practical solutions.

Requirements:

• Minimum of an HND in Building Technology, Building, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven years of experience in building construction or site supervision.
• Membership or registration with the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) and registration with the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON) is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building materials, and construction safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
