Account Clerk
Job summary
The Account Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, documenting company expenditures, organizing supporting financial documents, and assisting in financial reporting.

Responsibilities:
- Record all company expenditures accurately and promptly.
- Maintain separate financial records for projects and operational activities.
- Organize receipts, invoices, payment vouchers, and supporting financial documents.
- Verify expenditure records before documentation.
- Maintain petty cash records and reconciliation.
- Track project expenses and company operational costs.
- Monitor expenditures against approved budgets.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Maintain an organized digital and physical filing system.
- Track vendor payments and outstanding balances.
- Support internal audits and financial reviews.
- Ensure confidentiality of all financial records and company information.
- Work closely with the Business Operations & Administration Manager (BOAM) to ensure compliance with company financial procedures.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Record approved financial transactions.
- Update expenditure registers.
- Organize financial documents.
- Verify receipts and payment evidence.
- Reconcile petty cash and payment records.
- Submit daily expenditure updates.
Weekly Responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly expenditure reports.
- Review outstanding payments.
- Reconcile project expenses.
- Verify missing documentation.
- Attend financial review meetings with management.
Monthly Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial summaries.
- Compile project expenditure reports.
- Monitor budget performance.
- Maintain organized financial archives.
- Prepare reports for management review.
Requirements:
- OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications are an added advantage.
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or administrative role.
- Experience with financial record management is preferred.
- Experience in an agribusiness or project-based organization is an advantage.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Google Sheets.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
