Responsibilities:
- Drive trucks to transport goods over short or long distances safely
- Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips to ensure they are in good working condition
- Load and unload cargo carefully and securely
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and deliveries
- Follow traffic rules, safety regulations, and company policies
- Report any accidents, vehicle issues, or delays promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of the truck
Requirements:
- Valid heavy-duty truck driving license
- Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with long-distance driving
- Good knowledge of road safety rules and transport regulations
- Ability to operate and maintain trucks responsibly
- Physical fitness to handle long hours and cargo loading/unloading
- Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge of trucks is an added advantage
