Job Summary
As the pasture manager, you will oversee pasture and grazing systems, focusing on optimizing forage production and utilization for small ruminant livestock. Your responsibilities include planning and implementing strategies to ensure pasture health and productivity. This involves monitoring pasture health, implementing weed control and soil fertility improvement measures. Coordinating rotational grazing schedules for optimal forage utilization and animal health.

Job Description/Requirements
- Site Selection and Soil Preparation – Assess land suitability and prepare soil through plowing, harrowing, and soil amendments.
- Pasture Species Selection – Identify and select appropriate forage species based on climate, soil type, and livestock nutritional needs.
- Seed Planting and Sowing – Execute planting using best agronomic practices to ensure optimal germination and coverage.
- Fertilization and Soil Nutrient Management – Apply fertilizers or compost to enhance soil fertility and pasture yield.
- Crop Production (e.g Vegetables) – Participate in the cultivation of vegetables and other crops to support value chain optimization and create additional streams of income for the farm.
- Weed and Pest Control – Monitor and manage weed invasion and pests using integrated control methods.
Requirements:
- Minimum academic qualification of OND/HND/BSc in Crop Science, Agriculture, Animal Science, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience
- Passion for agriculture and a willingness to work hands-on is required.
- Extensive experience in a farming-related field.
- Must be able to ride a bike.
Remuneration: NGN 110,000
