Job Description

Recruiting for.a Client

  • The Offshore Medic reports to the Offshore Installation Manager.  The function shall include, but may not be limited to the following, which may be revised from time to time as indicated by changes in operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide First Aid, medical services on the installation and to provide secretarial support to the OIM. 
  • Operate and maintain the FPSO hospital, medical and First Aid facilities in accordance with appropriate legislation, and keep records accordingly.

  • Lead the First Aid Team in the Emergency Management Organisation
  • Administer First Aid and other medical treatment as and when required.
  • Communicate with onshore medical specialists, where necessary, and act on their advice.
  • Maintain records of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences
  • Train relevant crewmembers in First Aid.
  • Prepare and conduct First Aid drills.
  • Maintain daily and monthly records of fresh water analyses.
  • Daily POB and accommodation allocation administration.
  • Helicopter passenger booking and liaison with the Materials Coordinator.
  • Carry out secretarial tasks as directed by the OIM.
  • Carry out additional relevant tasks as required by the OIM.
  • Ensure that the FPSO Waste Management policy is followed.
  • Provide information and advice on occupational health and hygiene matters, and carry out inspections and assessments as required.
  • Act as an offshore focal point for HSEQ support.
  • Carry out safety induction briefing for all incoming and outgoing passengers.
  • Assist OIM with general documentation control.
  • Able to discuss medical issues directly with onshore support doctor.
  • Offshore Installation Manager for day to day medical and administrative duties
  • Heads of Departments on personnel movements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • State Registered Nurse (SRN) or equivalent Nigerian Nursing Council approved practioner.
  • Offshore Survival with HUET
  • Offshore Medic
  • Proficient in English language and mathematical skills.
  • High food / environmental hygiene standards
