Network Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and other network infrastructure

• Install, configure, and manage network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related equipment

• Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and security using appropriate network monitoring tools

• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and configuration issues within agreed service levels

• Perform network configuration changes, upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance

• Support the implementation and maintenance of network security controls, including firewall rules, access controls, VPNs, and network segmentation

• Participate in the design and deployment of network infrastructure for new projects and business requirements

• Conduct network performance analysis and recommend improvements where necessary

• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, topology, IP addressing, devices, and changes

• Support network capacity planning and contribute to infrastructure scalability and optimization

• Liaise with Internet Service Providers, vendors, and other technical teams to resolve network-related issues

• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes

• Provide technical support and guidance to junior network engineers and other IT staff

• Conduct network testing and validation after implementations or changes

• Ensure network infrastructure complies with organizational IT, information security, and operational policies

• Participate in scheduled on-call or after-hours support where required

• Prepare technical reports on network performance, incidents, maintenance activities, and projects.

• Perform other network-related duties as assigned by the Network Manager.

  
  

Requirements:

• Minimum of an HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field
• Relevant experience in network engineering, network administration, or a similar role
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, MikroTik, Fortinet, or equivalent are an advantage
• Experience working with enterprise network equipment and technologies is desirable.
