Job Description/Requirements

Requirements:
  • Marketing Officer Responsibilities (Brand Focus: University of Ottawa)
  • Leverage social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, to share compelling content, engage with prospective students, and build a community around the university.
  • Utilize social media platforms, online advertising, and content marketing strategies to raise awareness of the university and engage with prospective students in the digital space.
  • Collaborate with educational influencers in the target market to amplify the reach and visibility of the university's content.
  • Develop relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers in the target market to secure media coverage and PR opportunities. Leverage digital channels, such as email campaigns, social media groups, and webinars, to connect directly with prospective students and provide them with relevant information and guidance.
  • Ensure timely and personalized responses to inquiries and application submissions, creating a positive and supportive experience for prospective students.
  • Provide virtual campus tours and online information sessions to give students a comprehensive understanding of the university's facilities, resources, and campus life.
  • Assist in conducting training sessions and workshops for partners and agents to familiarize them with the university's offerings, value proposition, and admission processes.
  • Provide ongoing education and updates to keep partners and agents informed about program updates, changes in admission requirements, and new scholarship opportunities.
  • Create easily accessible online resources, such as FAQs, brochures, videos, and virtual campus tours, to provide prospective students with detailed information about the university and its offerings.
  • Ensure that the information is available in multiple formats and languages to cater to the diverse needs of prospective students.
  • Offer personalized counseling sessions to prospective students, either in person or through virtual platforms, where they can discuss their academic goals, interests, and concerns.
  • Seek feedback and insights from partners and agents regarding student inquiries, application trends, and competitors' activities.
  • Leverage digital analytics tools to track and analyze online user behavior, website traffic, and engagement metrics.
  • Monitor social media conversations, comments, and sentiment analysis to gain insights into prospective students' interests, concerns, and preferences.
  • Prepare and present quarterly and annual reports to senior management. Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with digital media developments and industry trends.
  • In addition to the above, other responsibilities or duties may be assigned to you occasionally.



Requirements:

  • Minimum academic qualification of a bachelor's degree in marketing or any related discipline. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous marketing experience in the service industry.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing and launching new innovative products.
  • Proven experience in leading, motivating, and managing a team to deliver to deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Both digital and off-line marketing experience: paid search, social media marketing, building a brand online, press releases, radio spots, prints, and all marketing channels
  • Highly analytical, data-driven – a must and a top priority: unit economics, A/B testing, cohort analysis
  • Good understanding and a great interest in the service industry 
  • A creative approach to marketing and a “growth-hacking” philosophy would be a strong advantage.
  • Strong experience with content creation, and content marketing
  • Ability and willingness to be fully hands-on, but with the added responsibility of managing a team.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with finance, data, and statistics, and the ability to evaluate and interpret complex marketing data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to use spreadsheets to analyze data and spot trends.
