Job Summary
The Investment Officer is to assist in acquiring & managing partners/clients and the assessment of the credit worthiness of potential partners & clients with the goal of growing AHH portfolio.

Job Description/Requirements
- Conducting industry and market research.
- Sourcing, screening, and analyzing potential investment opportunities.
- Assisting the Senior Investment Associate in summarizing research into investment memorandums and presenting key findings to the Investment Committee.
- Managing and maintaining internal database, including tracking portfolio companies’ performance.
- Analyze current and past financial data and performance.
- Use of various valuation methods to calculate business enterprise value and IRR.
- Perform ROI analysis as required.
- Undertake research and analysis on prospective transactions to arrive at preliminary deal decisions.
- Assessing healthcare investment opportunities and building robust M&A pipeline.
- Assist with all due diligence related activities and managing deal execution as required.
- Any other duties as will be assigned by the Senior Investment Associate and Chief Financial Officer.
Experience
and skill required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics from a well-renowned university.
- Preferably, you have professional qualifications like ACCA, ICAN, and CFA.
- 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience from Investment Banking, M&A, Management Consulting, Private Equity or Corporate Finance.
- Documented experience from M&A – and/or Due Diligence processes and understanding of the applicable tools, tasks and processes associated with these.
- Good knowledge of the healthcare market in Africa with sound business acumen and judgment.
- Understanding of corporate finance concepts – DCF valuation and Market valuation.
- Strong excel skills, as well as budding financial modelling and analysis skills.
- Good knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting tools.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Great presentation skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational ability.
- Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines.
- Willingness to work long hours, when necessary.
