Investigative Journalist

Responsibilities:

Research & Investigation:

• Conduct in-depth research and investigations on local and international news topics, with a focus on Nigeria and its global connections.
• Gather information from credible sources, including interviews, documents, and data analysis.
• Verify facts and ensure the accuracy and reliability of all news content.

News Writing & Reporting:

• Write, edit, and prepare compelling news articles, reports, and features for the online news channel.
• Develop engaging and informative content that resonates with a diverse audience.
• Cover breaking news, political developments, economic trends, social issues, and foreign affairs.

Broadcasting & Multimedia Content:

• Prepare and present news stories for broadcast on the online news channel, including video reports and live segments.
• Collaborate with the production team to create multimedia content, such as videos, infographics, and podcasts.
• Ensure all content aligns with the channel’s editorial standards and brand voice.

Global Perspective with Local Relevance:

• Analyze international events and their impact on Nigeria, providing context and insights for the audience.
• Highlight stories that connect Nigeria to global trends, policies, and developments.

Ethical Journalism:

• Adhere to the highest standards of journalistic integrity, ethics, and objectivity.
• Avoid sensationalism and ensure balanced reporting.

Collaboration & Innovation:

• Work closely with the editorial team to develop story ideas and editorial strategies.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in journalism and digital media.
• Propose innovative formats and approaches to storytelling.

Requirements:

• 3 years experience.
• Degree in a related field.
