Requirements & SkillsOur client, a rapidly expanding indigenous engineering and technology solutions company, is seeking a highly experienced and commercially minded Head of Finance to lead their finance function. Operating within the dynamic offshore energy, marine, and subsea engineering sector, with key operations in Lagos and Port Harcourt, the organization delivers specialized technical solutions and project support services to Nigeria's energy industry.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a strategic finance professional who thrives in project-based or contract-driven environments. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Finance will be pivotal in driving robust financial governance, effective cashflow management, regulatory compliance, and overall business performance optimization. The successful candidate will play a critical role in financial planning, commercial decision-making, risk management, and actively supporting the company's ambitious growth agenda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Lead and develop the finance function, fostering a high-performing team that supports business growth and operational excellence.
- Oversee budgeting, annual planning, and long-term financial forecasting processes.
- Lead cashflow planning, including rolling forecasts, liquidity management, and working capital optimization.
- Oversee project-based financials, including revenue recognition, cost tracking, profitability analysis, and contract performance monitoring.
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and statutory reports in compliance with IFRS.
- Provide timely financial analysis, business insights, and strategic recommendations to the Managing Director and senior leadership team.
- Support business growth initiatives through financial modelling, investment appraisal, and commercial decision-making.
- Present financial performance, forecasts, and key business risks to the Board and Executive Management as required.
- Ensure full compliance with all tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements, including FIRS, SIRS, PENCOM, and other relevant authorities.
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisers, insurers, and other key external stakeholders.
- Oversee financing arrangements, treasury activities, foreign exchange exposure, and capital management.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and internal control standards.
- Implement and monitor risk management frameworks, procurement governance, and fraud prevention controls.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, reporting processes, and operational efficiencies.
- Partner with operational and project teams to ensure effective financial management and achievement of business objectives.
- Develop and monitor finance KPIs, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement across the function.
Requirements:Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Mandatory: ACA (ICAN), ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum of 8–12 years’ progressive finance experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior finance leadership role.
- Experience in the oil and gas servicing sector or similar contract-driven environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax legislation, financial regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in cashflow management, working capital optimization, and contract-based business environments.
- Proven experience managing finance teams and driving organizational growth.
- Proficiency in ERP and financial management systems.

Compensation:
The position offers a competitive net compensation package ranging from N1,200,000 to N1,700,000 monthly.
