Main Duties and Responsibilities
To enhance processes and procedures in the current engineering function and create new processes and procedures to cater to large value projects, evaluate and follow up on technical issues, risk assessment and rectification of potential hazards/risks, etc.
To lead a team of multi-disciplined design engineers and draughtsman in the proper execution of engineering related activities for various projects.
To be able to evaluate the impacts and risks while discharging his duties especially on matters pertaining to risk assessments, deviation and exception to specifications, codes and standards, and facility's operability and maintainability.
Involvement in detailed design calculations, preparation of engineering data sheets and specifications, shop fabrication drawings and troubleshooting of design problems resulting from shop and field capabilities.
Pre-award activities such as preliminary design, preparation of tender drawings and material take-offs, cost estimation of material, plant and preliminaries, collaborating with commercial/procurement in preparation of quotation, material sourcing and vendor development.
To engage in front end services with clients and handle queries and clarifications for the various engineering disciplines.
To work closely with the project management team and ensure proper execution of the job within the specified scope.
To manage the design issues with the sub-contractors and ensure compliance with the client design.
To keep up to date, and coordinate functional roles pertaining to health, safety, environmental protection. Comply with responsibilities as defined in the Company's Health, Safety & Environment Policy and ensure compliance with the same throughout the team.
To set technical goals and action plan within broad outlines provided by top management.
Required Experience and Job-Specific Skills:
B.Eng/HND in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or other related Engineering courses.
MSc in a Subsea Engineering Course will be an advantage.
Minimum of 7 years Subsea Engineering experience and minimum of 4 years in a managerial position.
Effective use of engineering software as well as Microsoft office.
Vast knowledge in Oil & Gas operations.
Ability to accurately rig up for operations at work locations.
Knowledgeable in data management
Budget preparation experience.
Highly skilled in negotiation and pricing including business development
Excellent communication skills and the ability to complete tasks on time.
Member of Professional body will be an added advantage. (CEng or COREN, preferably both.)
