Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Prepare nursery beds or containers suitable for ginger propagation
- Select healthy ginger rhizomes for nursery planting
- Plant ginger rhizomes using recommended spacing and depth
- Water nursery beds appropriately and consistently
- Monitor seedlings for pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies
- Implement pest and disease control measures when necessary
- Weed nursery beds regularly to prevent competition
- Maintain proper shade and moisture conditions
- Keep basic records of planting dates, inputs, and growth progress
- Ensure nursery area is clean, organized, and well-managed
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of ginger farming or nursery management
- Experience in crop propagation or vegetable/spice farming is an advantage
- Ability to identify healthy vs diseased ginger rhizomes
- Understanding of watering, shading, and soil management
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors
Preferred Qualifications
