Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for the safe and continuous operation of all electrical systems across the estate.
  
• Supervise the electrical elements of the renovation, reviewing contractor designs and installations before commissioning.
  
• Operate and maintain transformers, distribution panels, switchgear and earthing systems, and manage generator servicing, fuelling and changeover reliability
  
• Run a planned preventive maintenance schedule, and maintain drawings, panel schedules and accurate as-built records.
  
• Diagnose and resolve faults, respond to resident complaints, and monitor load, consumption and diesel usage against budget.
  
• Supervise estate electricians, enforce compliance with the Nigerian Electricity Regulations and IEE wiring standards, and liaise with the DISCO, NEMSA and external contractors.

Requirements:

• B.Sc/B.Eng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering, with proof of qualification. An M.Sc/MBA is an advantage.
• MNSE and R.Eng (COREN) registration.
• Minimum of 5 years, with substantial time on estate, facility, hospitality or industrial installations, and demonstrable supervisory responsibility over technicians and external contractors.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety practice, and willingness to respond to emergencies outside normal hours.
• Communicate effectively, including translating technical matters for management and residents.
• Take initiative, take charge, and lead a team of technicians.
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of LV and HV distribution, transformers, switchgear and protection systems.
• Demonstrate practical competence with generators, changeover panels, inverters and solar installations.
