Chief Security Officer (CSO)
Job summary
We are seeking a disciplined, proactive, and highly responsible Chief Security Officer (CSO) to oversee and manage all security operations at our facilities in Irawo Owode and its environs. The CSO will be responsible for safeguarding the premises, assets, several hectares of farmland, educational hub, staff quarters, fleet of vehicles and heavy-duty machinery, staff, visitors and more while ensuring a safe, secure, and orderly environment at all times.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all security personnel and security operations.
- Develop and implement security strategies, policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure strict access control to all properties.
- Monitor surveillance systems, alarm systems, and security equipment.
- Lead investigations into incidents, breaches, or suspicious activities.
- Prepare detailed security reports and incident documentation.
- Liaise with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders when necessary.
- Train and supervise security guards to ensure professionalism and readiness.
- Conduct routine patrols to ensure the safety of the premises placed in your charge.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and security regulations.
- Manage emergency response plans, including fire, medical, or evacuation procedures.
- Manage duty rosters, performance monitoring, and discipline of security personnel.
- Maintain accurate visitor logs, incident registers, and equipment inventory records.
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information observed in the course of duty.
- Escalate critical security incidents promptly to senior management and/or security agencies.
- Participate in post-incident reviews and continuous improvement of security protocols.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Diploma or Degree in Security Management, Criminology, Public Administration, or related field (advantageous but not mandatory with strong experience).
- At least 5 years of experience in security operations as a Security consultant and/or Chief Security Officer, with provable 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Prior experience working or being a member of recognised security agencies (the police, the military, DSS, etc.) is an added advantage.
- Ability to drive vehicles, manual and automatic, as well as a motorcycle, is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of physical security protocols and risk management principles.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent observation, reporting, and decision-making skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations, as well as strong negotiation skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be physically fit and capable of conducting routine patrols.
- Must be willing to work full-time onsite in Irawo Owode, Oyo State.
Preferred Qualities:
- Prior experience working in and with rural communities, especially implementing security protocols and strategies within rural communities.
- Experience in managing the security outfit in educational institutions, NGO, or corporate or rural areas.
- Ability to communicate fluently in Yoruba – speaking Hausa is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of CCTV systems and security technology.
- First Aid, fire emergency or emergency response certification is an added advantage. What We Offer
