Trainee Poultry Nutrition

What are your responsibilities?

As a trainee, you follow a two-year program in which you rapidly get to know several departments within De Heus. The program is based on a series of modules ranging from 3 to 6 months. They include in depth activities in animal nutrition, research & development, international product management, formulations, market analysis and project management. Next to the content modules you will receive additional courses to support your personal and professional development throughout the two years.

The content of this traineeship will be focused on a future position at the Global Poultry department.

During the traineeship you will combine the knowledge you acquired at the university with practical working experience. This will give you more in-depth understanding of poultry nutrition and insight into the different poultry markets where De Heus is active. You will gain skills in formulating recipes, market analysis, product management and the production processes in the animal feed industry.

We will evaluate your progress after each module. You will finish your traineeship at the end of the two years with a specific assignment as a preparation for your next job within De Heus.

What do we expect from you?

The traineeship is intended for ambitious commercial candidates who would like to explore the world in poultry nutrition. Besides a master’s degree, you need to have very good analytical skills to structure and solve complex nutritional subjects, have a pro-active way of working and eager to learn. You will maintain and expand your professional network of contacts in a natural way. Affection for numbers, commercial feeling and good communication skills are considered as an advantage. You need to be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
