Job Description/Requirements



Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required for the Job:

ND/NCE/Certificates in Food science and Technology, science laboratory technology, Chemical/Mechanical engineering and any other related courses, or SSCE with relevant working experience in batch preparation with tubular Pasteurizer operations. 

3 years relevant working experience in the manufacturing setting in FMCG industry.

knowledge of electro pneumatic control panel. 

Ability to handle viscous products. Knowledge in HACCP/GMP.  

Experience In Tubular heat exchanger/Pasteurizer. 

Knowledge in basic computer appreciations is required.

Mission and Long-Term Goal: To carry out all batch mixing processes and Pasteurization that promote excellence in food safety, quality and quantity productivity, cost management in accordance with the company’s budget and time lines.


Short-Term Goal: To work with the line manager, engineering manager, GM Processing, and other team members to set up production batch mixing processes and procedures (SOP), and drive full factory setup so that Tomato Jos can commission the facility in March 2021 and conduct a commercial production run in same month.


Other Responsibilities:

  • To operate steam feeding group with manual valve, filter, pneumatic regulation valves, steam injector unit, safety valves, inlet and outlet water temperature transmitters. 

  • To ensure an optimal heat penetration inside the product and homogenous temperature profile across the product section.

  • To develop and manage program for Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) and sterilization of product line using caustic soda, Nitric acid and Rinse water. 

  • To effectively carry out Mixing of tomatoes to standard recipe specification. 


Additional Qualifications and Experience That Will Set You Apart

  • Prior experience with automated consumer packaging machine operations

  • Prior experience with tomato processing, edible oils, sugar or starch production, or other food production requiring evaporation and tubular heat exchange

  • Fluency in Hausa

Remuneration: Salary is commensurate to experience within the range of industry standards. A communication allowance, pension and health insurance are included, and an annual performance-based bonus may be awarded at the discretion of the executive management team. Please note that adequate security is provided to the whole Tomato Jos team.


Salary: (₦50,000 – ₦100,000)
