Operations Manager
Job summary
In this role, you will drive go-to-market strategy, identify and develop strategic partnerships (including with banks, MFIs, and cooperatives), and lead user acquisition and engagement efforts for a Fintech software product. We are looking for a sharp, resourceful, and execution-focused Operations Strategist.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Execution & Market Support:
- Support executing go-to-market strategies and expansion plans across target markets.
- Conduct localised market research to understand user behaviour, financial needs, and operational risks.
- Identify and assess growth opportunities, customer segments, and partner channels.
Partnership & Relationship Coordination:
- Act as the operational point person for engaging with financial institutions, tech partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate partnership onboarding, due diligence, and ongoing relationship management.
- Represent the leadership team in ecosystem events, stakeholder meetings, and partnership engagements.
Cross-Functional Operations:
- Work closely with product, marketing, compliance, and finance teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Gather frontline feedback from users, partners, and stakeholders to inform product and process improvements.
- Ensure alignment between ground-level realities and strategic priorities set by the executive team.
Project Management & Reporting:
- Track progress of key initiatives and flag issues or delays proactively.
- Prepare status reports, dashboards, and decision memos for leadership review.
- Own special projects or pilots that test new operational models, markets, or product features.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, economics, finance, or a related field (an MBA is a plus).
- 2+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, or fintech/business development.
- Proven ability to execute complex projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a bias for clarity and action.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and finding structure in chaos.
- Experience with financial or SaaS products in emerging markets is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with digital financial systems, customer onboarding processes, and regulatory considerations.
- A self-starter who thrives on ownership and execution.
- Comfortable switching between big-picture thinking and on-the-ground operations.
