Recruitment Giant has partnered with Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals to support their recruitment efforts. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Lead – Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) for their RFCC unit.
Role Description
The Lead - Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) will oversee and manage the RFCC unit operations, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance with safety and efficiency standards. Responsibilities include supervising daily unit activities, monitoring process parameters, troubleshooting operational issues, and leading a team of technical staff. The role also involves coordinating with other departments to ensure process optimization and operational continuity. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos, Nigeria.
Qualifications
- Technical expertise in Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) processes, unit operations, and equipment management
- Lead and oversee the overall functioning of the RFCC and HGU units, ensuring achievement of production, quality, and safety targets.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve plant efficiency, reliability, and cost- effectiveness.
- Drive production planning, shutdown/start-up execution, and plant modification projects in coordination with relevant departments.
- Lead root cause analysis of critical issues, incidents, and deviations.
- Provide leadership to the operations team including O&M Co-Ordinator, Shift In charges, Engineers, and Technicians.
- Review manpower planning, training needs, and competency development.
- Support digital transformation and implementation of operational excellence practices
- Keep up to date with advancements in refining processes and technologies to improve unit operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and optimizing RFCC unit performance
- Monitor daily plant performance and provide direction to address bottlenecks or deviations
- Experience in process monitoring and control systems within a refining or petrochemical environment
- Represent the department in audits, reviews, and management meetings
- Ability to work on-site with a hands-on approach to identify and resolve operational challenges
- Strong communication skills for coordination with cross-functional teams and reporting to senior management
- Previous experience in a supervisory role or leadership position in refinery operations is highly desirable
Education Requirement
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
Experience Required
25 to 30 years in Refinery operations. This experience can be gained through a variety of roles such as Process Engineer, Operations Supervisor, Unit In Charge, Projects Co-Ordinator, HSE, Experience in Pre-commissioning-commissioning activities preferred.
