Job Summary

Talent Code Africa is an ambitious startup on a mission to empower Nigeria’s youth with cutting-edge tech skills. Our vision is to transform Nigeria into a tech powerhouse by harnessing the potential of its youth. As we expand our reach, we seek a Head of Operations who will oversee the day-to-day activities of the organization, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing operational policies, managing the operational budget, and leading a team to drive operational excellence.

Job Description/Requirements


Operational Leadership:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations, including facilities, IT and administration.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies.

Financial Management:

  • Prepare and manage operational budgets.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure financial health and sustainability.

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of staff.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process and operational improvements.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and performance.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support the organization's mission and goals.
  • Serve as a liaison between the operations team and other departments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Align operational activities with strategic priorities.
  • Participate in long-term planning to support growth and development.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Education Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations management, preferably within an educational institution or tech industry.
  • Proven track record of managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
