Job Summary

We are looking for a General Manager, Business Development to be responsible for acquiring and driving wealth procurement. The GMBD will be responsible for managing teams, marketing the organization's Loans and Investment services to new and existing clients, and building the portfolios. To be successful, the GMBD must possess strong management and sales skills.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business strategies to drive growth and profitability
  • Secure volumes of investments and loan transactions monthly. 
  • Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage a team of business development professionals
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial models, and performance metrics
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve brand visibility and reputation
  • Manage and optimize business development processes and systems
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff members


Specific Duties:

  • Secure volumes of investments and loan transactions monthly. 
  • Must be able to meet the designated targets for investments and loans monthly. 
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify business opportunities.
  • Lead negotiations and closing of deals.
  • Develop financial models and analysis to support business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to develop investment theses and strategies
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, and regulators.
  • Represent the company in industry events, conferences, and meetings.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and the board of directors.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in business development, investment banking, or asset management
  • Proven track record of success in business development and deal-making.
  • Strong understanding of the Nigerian investment landscape and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
