Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the cultivation of cash crops (e.g., maize, cassava, yam) and horticultural crops (e.g., vegetables, fruits, ornamental plants).
- Implement effective farming techniques to maximize crop yield and quality, including soil preparation, planting, irrigation, and pest control.
- Monitor crop health, identify issues (e.g., pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies), and apply appropriate interventions.
- Manage farm workers, assign tasks, and ensure adherence to work schedules and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of crop production, inputs (e.g., fertilizers, pesticides), and farm expenses.
- Oversee the maintenance of farm equipment, tools, and infrastructure, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Coordinate harvesting, post-harvest handling, and preparation of produce for market or distribution.
- Collaborate with management to develop budgets, procurement plans, and strategies for crop diversification or farm expansion.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- HND in any field of study
