Job summary
We are seeking to hire a Wellsite Geologist to join our team. The Wellsite Geologist serves as the primary technical lead for subsurface operations, ensuring precise wellbore placement and real-time geological evaluation to drive total asset performance. This role directly impacts the accuracy of formation assessment and drilling efficiency, serving as a critical bridge between complex geological models and field-based execution.

Responsibilities:
- Execute complex geological data interpretation and abnormal pressure surveillance to ensure safe, precise wellbore placement in challenging subsurface conditions.
- Manage the generation and analysis of formation evaluation logs, integrating findings into real-time decision-making to optimise reservoir characterisation.
- Oversee technical operations including mud logging, LWD, wireline services, coring programs, and bottom-hole assembly (BHA) configurations to ensure drilling efficiency.
- Direct all onsite geotechnical operations and manage third-party vendor performance to guarantee strict adherence to safety and technical project specifications.
- Lead and mentor junior geological staff, facilitating technical knowledge transfer and ensuring high standards of operational excellence.
- Collaborate with integrated asset teams to align directional drilling objectives with real-time subsurface data and overarching reservoir goals.
Requirements:
- Possess 10+ years of extensive experience as a Wellsite Geologist, with a proven track record in complex offshore operations and highly deviated well environments.
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology from an accredited institution.
- Maintain current and valid certifications, including OPITO HUET, Sea Survival, and H2S.
- Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in managing geotechnical operations and coordinating effectively with diverse third-party vendors.
- Exhibit professional fluency in English with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to operate effectively in an onsite, collaborative environment.
