VAS Technical Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Support the configuration, testing, and day-to-day running of Capivas VAS products delivered over shortcode, USSD and SMS.
• Work with MNO and platform partners on service setup, keyword configuration, testing and troubleshooting.
• Produce and edit short-form videos for social, on-device promotion and campaign channels.
• Use AI video and image generation tools to develop concepts and finished assets quickly and at volume.
• Develop content for our VAS products, games, trivia, and subscription services — in a voice that lands with the Nigerian mass-market audience.
• Adapt campaigns into the format each channel needs, from vertical social videos to compressed on-device creatives.
• Monitor service and campaign performance, and feed what you learn into both the product and the creative.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years in a telecom VAS, digital content or mobile services environment.
• Working understanding of VAS delivery, shortcodes, subscription flows, USSD/SMS services, or campaigns run with mobile network operators.
• Solid video editing skills  Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or equivalent — with a reel or portfolio we can watch.
• Hands-on experience with AI video and image generation tools, and honest judgement about where they help and where they don't.
• Strong content instincts for Nigerian social media, and the ability to write copy as well as cut footage.
• Someone who can take a brief and deliver without being walked through every step.

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience with on-device advertising formats or campaign channels run through an MNO.
• Familiarity with creating for low-bandwidth or feature-phone audiences.
• Basic familiarity with scripting, databases or APIs for service testing and troubleshooting.
• Motion graphics.
