Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and eager-to-learn Trainee Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team. Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Work under the supervision of senior bakers and chefs to learn and assist with:
- Preparing basic pastries, cookies, cakes, breads, and dessert components
- Measuring ingredients and following recipes accurately
- Assisting in decorating cakes, tarts, and pastries
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the pastry workstation
- Assisting in stock rotation, ingredient preparation, and inventory
- Learning proper food handling, hygiene, and safety procedures
- Supporting daily kitchen operations and production tasks
- Packaging baked goods and preparing orders
- Receiving, checking, and storing ingredients properly
- Participating in training sessions and improving baking techniques
Requirements:
- No prior professional experience required—training will be provided
- Must have a genuine interest in pastry, baking, and culinary arts
- Basic knowledge of measuring, mixing, and kitchen tools is an advantage
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes carefully
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn
- Must be punctual, reliable, and hardworking
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and during busy periods
- Must maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
