Job Description
Within Fiberco, the Telecom Civil Engineering Technician is involved in all operations related to the construction and maintenance of infrastructure required for the deployment of fiber optic and telecom networks.
They are responsible for the preparation, execution, and monitoring of civil engineering works, ensuring the quality, compliance, and durability of the networks deployed by Fiberco.
Main Responsibilities
Studies and Work Preparation
- Conduct field surveys: poles, manholes, trench routes, roadways.
- Identify technical and environmental constraints (facade routing, obstacles, existing networks).
- Participate in the preparation and marking of work areas.
- Read, analyze, and interpret civil engineering and fiber optic plans.
Execution of Civil Engineering Works
- Carry out or supervise:
- Trenching and micro-trenching works.
- Installation of ducts, conduits, manholes, and telecom accessories.
- Road reinstatement (carriageways, sidewalks).
- Install signage and safety measures in compliance with HSE standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to specifications and Fiberco standards.
Support to Telecom Deployment
- Collaborate with Fiber teams to ensure infrastructure continuity.
- Participate in the installation of supports (poles, pylons, anchors, etc.).
- Perform basic continuity and cable routing tests prior to fiber installation.
Quality Control and Reporting
- Carry out end-of-site inspections and produce related reports.
- Document work: photos, measurements, and as-built drawings.
- Report anomalies, risks, or the need for corrective actions.
Profile Required
Education & Experience
- CAP / High School Diploma / BTS or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, Public Works, Electricity, or Networks.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in underground civil works (telecom or public works).
- Experience in fiber‑optic deployment.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering applied to telecom networks.
- Ability to read technical drawings, execution files, and civil engineering plans.
- Expertise in earthworks, installation of chambers/ducts, and reinstatement.
- Basic knowledge of fiber optic networks (FTTH, FTTx).
- Use of measurement tools and field equipment.

- Excellent physical condition and ability to work in outdoor and underground environments.
- Team‑oriented, autonomous, and proactive.
- Available and willing to travel depending on project needs.
