Technical Director (HVAC & Renewable Energy)

Location: Lagos
Role Summary
Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Director to lead the design, execution, and delivery of HVAC and renewable energy projects. This role combines technical leadership, project oversight, and commercial responsibility to drive both project success and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design reviews, project planning, and execution across HVAC and renewable energy projects
- Oversee project lifecycle: proposals, implementation, commissioning, and handover
- Manage budgets, project timelines, and overall profitability
- Conduct site audits and implement corrective actions where required
- Lead, mentor, and develop technical teams
- Manage subcontractors and third-party vendors
- Drive project sales and support business development efforts
- Maintain strong client relationships and support proposal development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Registered Engineer with a professional membership (e.g., ASHRAE)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HVAC, renewable energy, or related industries
- Strong experience in commercial air-conditioning systems (Chillers, VRF, AHU) and solar systems
- Proven track record in project management and delivery
- Strong commercial acumen with P&L responsibility
- Experience in consultative selling and business development
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
